Plaquemines Parish Coastal Restoration Program - Plaquemines Parish faces substantial wetland loss due to subsidence, sea-level rise, and salt-water intrusion. GCR & Associates has provided project management and team coordination in the effort to provide stabilization to the existing brackish marsh through enrichment with freshwater nutrients and sediment from the Mississippi River.
New Orleans Master Plan and Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance - In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the need for a new framework for development and public investment was evident to the residents and leadership of the City of New Orleans. GCR has served as one of the principal consultants on the project team, with responsibilities including public outreach facilitation, GIS mapping and geospatial analysis, data management, and demographic analysis and projections.
Unified New Orleans Plan - In 2006, a team including the Rockefeller Foundation, Greater New Orleans Foundation, and Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund commissioned a process that united all past planning efforts and moved toward an overall recovery plan for New Orleans. GCR played a critical role in this process.
Louisiana Housing Finance Agency Statewide Housing Needs Assessment, State of Louisiana - The Louisiana Housing Finance Agency (LHFA) contracted with GCR for the completion of a statewide housing needs assessment. As a part of this effort, GCR designed and developed a web-based application for the analysis and mapping of demographic and housing data in all 64 Louisiana parishes.
Jefferson EDGE 2020 Strategic Implementation Plan and Quality of Life Initiative - The Jefferson Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) retained GCR to lead a “dream team” of Parish business, political, and community leaders in identifying the unique challenges that Jefferson is currently facing.
Jefferson Parish Transit Grant Management and Program Implementation - For more than a decade, GCR has served as consultant to Jefferson Parish's Department of Transit Administration.
